Etsy Purchases

I was looking through my most recent Etsy purchases today and thought how happy I was with all of them.  Here are the most recent three.

The scarf is from EcoShag, the log stack planner is from lettercdesign, and the print were my Christmas cards this year from Jahnavashti.

Errol Le Cain

This is an artist whose name I did not want to forget.  To make this happen I wanted to eternalize him on my blog.

The first and third image are from the book Twelve Dancing Princesses and the second is from Sleeping Beauty.

Wedding Invitations

My friend Lindsey is getting hitched in June so she surprisingly asked me to design her wedding invitations.  Below are four simple designs I came up with.  Very simple...

Collection { DesignLush }

{ DesignLush }

I'm not entirely sure why I'm going with the wood theme for the past two posts... Anywhichway - these three pieces are from DesignLush which I found in an advertisement in Elle Decor.  Can you believe the shapes of these??  You know that's some quality work right there...

I'll be at my desk...

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

At work this week a woman told me she was looking for a desk clock for a friend but she couldn't find a decent one anywhere because apparently, "People just don't use desk clocks anymore!  They just look at their computer."  This got me thinking that indeed the desk setting is a dying thing.  What with laptops and mobile phones people are taking their "desks" with them and cannot be weighted down with carrying around tape dispensers, staplers, etc. in their pockets.

Even being only 25 years old I'm a little old-fashioned.  I still send out cards for holidays rather than e-cards, I have a tangible calendar to keep track of my daily duties instead of using my phone, and yes I even have a desktop computer surrounded with desk trinkets.

So this little ditty about desk accessories is my present push to keep the past alive before the future digital world takes over entirely.

Architecture: Holiday House

Does anyone else wish this was their home for the holidays??

My New Sofa

Well the image doesn't do it justice but this is my new Carmen Sofa from Pier 1.  It's timeless, comfy, and versatile.  I do believe this was a good investment and look forward to many movies, naps, and hang outs on this piece.  Below the image of the sofa are the three pillow fabrics I'm throwing on there.

Tis the Season For Cards!

Mmm.  What a great feeling to get a beautiful card in the mail!  I feel, if you're going to send cards out you might as well make them something special.  There are what seems like a bajillion options but here's a few I wouldn't mind receiving.

All cards were found at Modern Paper Goods

Fall Table Set

So I recently started working at Pier 1 to fill in the gaps between design projects... not a whole lot of design work happening here in TN.  Everything but the vase is from Pier 1 (the vase being from Crate & Barrel).  What's so fantastic about table sets is that you are given variety throughout the whole year and each set really shouldn't cost you more than $100.  A good investment to spruce up the ol' dining table.

My Pretties {3}

Here is this week's compilation of what I find to be beautiful in the interior design world.

These are especially ornate and elegant.  They transcend you to a time of letter writing, tea, and ink-blotched fingers.

I have started a list of places I need to visit in my lifetime.  This beautiful, organic, ethereal chapel in Arkansas is definitely towards the top of the list.

This seating, originally designed by the one and only Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, has a masculine\angular shape but the grace and lean of a feminine quality.  I usually don't tend towards the modern design but this is captivating.
